Help American Artists Grow

Shop American Handcrafted welcomes collaboration with organizations that want to strengthen the businesses and creative careers of American artists. Together, we can help artists access practical education, professional resources, greater visibility, and meaningful opportunities.

Every partnership begins with a conversation. We listen to the needs of your organization and the artists you serve, then explore an approach that is thoughtful, useful, and aligned with our nonprofit mission.

Who We Partner With

We welcome conversations with arts councils, foundations, nonprofit organizations, economic-development groups, museums, cultural organizations, artist associations, and other organizations committed to helping artists succeed.

What a Partnership Can Make Possible

01

Education and Professional Development

Give artists access to practical business education covering wholesale readiness, pricing, marketing, presentation, buyer relationships, and sustainable growth.

02

Visibility and Market Access

Help artists prepare for and connect with meaningful opportunities, including increased visibility, professional market exposure, and relationships with qualified retail buyers.

03

Sponsored Artist Development

Organizations may help remove financial barriers by supporting eligible artists through cohort-based education, professional development, and other mission-aligned opportunities.

How We Work Together

We listen.
We begin by learning about your organization, the artists you serve, and the challenges or opportunities you want to address.

We design the opportunity.
Together, we identify the most useful combination of education, resources, visibility, sponsored development, and professional support.

We establish a clear plan.
We define eligibility, responsibilities, expectations, timing, appropriate measures of progress, and how information will be communicated throughout the partnership.

Built Around the Artists You Serve

There is no single program that fits every community. A statewide arts council may have different needs from a regional foundation, museum, or local artist organization.

Our goal is to develop partnerships that provide artists with support they can genuinely use—not simply exposure without preparation or opportunity without guidance.

Our Relationship With IndieMe

Shop American Handcrafted is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by its own board. When appropriate for a clearly defined program, Shop American Handcrafted may collaborate with IndieMe Marketplace, IndieMe Academy, or other qualified providers to deliver education, wholesale-readiness support, marketplace resources, or other services that advance the nonprofit's mission.

Any partnership or service arrangement should include a clearly documented purpose, scope of work, responsibilities, costs, and intended outcomes so participating organizations understand how their support will benefit artists.
